Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is one of the top states in terms of high cases of Corona infection. In such a situation, the news that Maharashtra and Gujarat had stopped the supply of oxygen came as a major blow. This was a loud danger alarm for the state. There is not enough oxygen in MP for all the patients that require it.
No supply to industries, medical purposes to be prioritised
The supply of oxygen from Maharashtra to Indore has also been stopped. Therefore, the oxygen crisis has deepened in hospitals battling with the pressure of serious Corona patients. The district administration has ordered that the oxygen should not be supplied to the industries. First, the supply of oxygen should reach the hospitals. The administration has issued the above orders under the National Disaster Management Act-2005 and the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897. However, the oxygen plants in the city do not have the capacity to meet the rapidly increasing demand.
Earlier, there was a problem when supplies were stopped from Maharashtra
Last year too, at the beginning of August and September, there was a sudden lack of medical oxygen in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra had stopped the oxygen supply in Madhya Pradesh. However, after discussion between the Chief Ministers and the intervention of the Central Government, supplies from Maharashtra were resumed.

'Prioritize your home first'
Sources informed that the Gujarat government has directed its respective plants to give 60% oxygen to the hospitals of the state and the remaining 40% oxygen can be given to other states in need.
Oxygen will be prioritized for medical use first
Bhopal Collector has issued new orders to curb the lack of oxygen amid the growing crisis of Corona. Whatever amount of oxygen will be produced in the state, will first be used for medical purposes. If there is any left to spare, it will be diverted to the industries.
'Oxygen supply not stopped at the moment'
The Collector has instructed to run the oxygen plants at full capacity. There are reports that Gujarat and Maharashtra have stopped supplying oxygen to Madhya Pradesh. But Bhopal Collector Avinash Lavanya says that supplies have not been stopped from any state at the moment. They have set their priorities afresh. Nevertheless, they are trying to make full arrangements on their behalf.
Oxygen plants will be operational for 24 hrs
