Probe ordered into video of MP school peon beating up students

Block Resource Coordinator has formed a three-member panel to probe the incident of a peon beating up students in a government school in Madhya Pradesh's Katni. The incident came into light after a video regarding the matter went viral on social media platforms.

Katni (Madhya Pradesh): An inquiry was ordered on Friday into a video showing a peon, who appeared drunk, beating up students in a government school in Madhya Pradesh's Katni.

The man in the video, which has gone viral on social media platforms, has been identified as Jaiprakash Mishra, a peon in Badwara tehsil's Government Balak (boys) Middle School.

"I came across the video at around 3.30 pm on Friday. I have formed a three-member panel to probe the incident and asked the panel to submit a report by evening," Block Resource Coordinator (BRC) K L Patel said.

Two others, identified as block education office peon Sanjay Markoo and guest teacher Santlal Dumar, are also seen in the video.

Mishra is seen sitting on a desk in a maroon shirt and jeans, with a saffron cloth wrapped around his head, in the video.
