Bhopal: AICC general secretary for UP East Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be up against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, as both the leaders are scheduled to hold rallies in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam-Jhabua area.
According to Vadra's schedule, the AICC general secretary will hold a joint-programme with MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath at Ujjain, before heading towards Ratlam, where she is expected to hold a rally at around 2:20 pm.
This is the first time that Priyanka will campaign for party candidates in the Central Indian state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too has a packed schedule, as he is scheduled to start his day with a 'mega rally' at Ratlam at around 11 am, following which he will proceed to Himachal Pradesh's Solan and Punjab's Bhatinda.
Ratlam-Jhabu is a reserved Schedule Tribe seat that is currently held by the Congress. While the BJP has fielded GS Damor from the constituency, the Congress has once again placed its bet on sitting MP Kantilal Bhuria.
The development comes at a time when both the leaders have been engaged in a war-of-words of late.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra recently called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a 'coward', within days of comparing him to the mythical Mahabharat anti-hero 'Duryodhan'. This was after PM Modi hit out at former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the former's father, and called him 'corrupt'.
