Incessant rains in various parts of Madhya Pradesh has battered normal life. Heavy rains in last three days caused water-logging in low-lying areas as several rivers and streams were in spate. The IMD has predicted very heavy to extremely heavy showers in 18 districts.
In some places, including state capital Bhopal, the authorities had to open sluice gates of reservoirs to release water after they were filled up to their maximum storage capacity following heavy rains, said an official in the water resources department.
