Man lynched to death on suspicion of peacock theft in MP

In yet another incident of mob violence, an elderly man was allegedly beaten to death by local residents in Madhya Pradesh on suspicion of cattle theft. Bodies have been sent for postmortem and further investigation is underway.

Neemuch: In what appears to be an instance of mob lynching from Madhya Pradesh's Neemuch town, an elderly man was allegedly beaten to death by villagers on suspicion of peacock theft.

The victim was undergoing treatment after a group of over 10 residents of the village beat him up on Friday night.

After the incident, the police has arrested 10 villagers and filed murder charges against them.

According to reports, dead peacocks were found near the corpse of the victim.

Meanwhile, the son of the deceased has alleged that he was with his father when the mob intercepted them.

In a seperate incident, a mob allegedly assaulted three youths for theft of goat in Neemuch on the same day. Following the incident their bikes were set on fire by the unruly mob.
