MP: Portals of Nagchandreshwar temple in Ujjain opened on Nag Panchami

The doors of the Nagchandreshwar temple were opened once a year for 24 hours only on the day of Nag Panchami. The temple opened with special worship at midnight for the devotees.

Ujjain (MP):The portals of Nagchandreshwar temple in Ujjain were opened at 12 midnight on the occasion of Nag Panchami on Tuesday. The doors of this temple are opened once a year on the day of Nag Panchami. Nag Panchami is a day of traditional worship of snakes, which is being celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists.

The doors of the Nagchandreshwar temple were opened once a year for 24 hours only on the day of Nag Panchami. The temple opened with special worship at midnight for the devotees. The Kapat will be closed at 12 midnight on Tuesday. During this time, lakhs of devotees will have darshan of Lord Nagchandreshwar. In view of this, the administration has made elaborate arrangements for devotees.

Trikal worship of Lord Shri Nagchandreshwar on Nag Panchami festival by Mahant Vinit Giri Maharaj of Shri Panchayati Maha Nirvani Akhara. After the evening aarti of Shri Mahakaleshwar Bhagwan by the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, pooja will be performed and aarti will be offered by the priests to the presiding deity.

On the occasion of Nag Panchami, a large number of devotees reached Ujjain to worship Shri Nagchandreshwar. Devotees have been permitted to enter the Nagchandreshwar temple for the first time through the foot-over-bridge. There has been a tradition of worshipping serpents in Hinduism for centuries. There are many such temples located in India, one of them is the temple of Nagchandreshwar in Ujjain, which is situated on top of the famous Shri Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain.
