MP Honey trap ring: One of the accused confesses before police

Bhopal:Just days after the arrest of five women and a man, for their alleged involvement in the honey trap ring targeting politicians and government officials in Madhya Pradesh, one of the accused on Thursday confessed to the crime.

According to reports, one of accused has confirmed her involvement with the gang and said that their association started two years ago in Bhopal.

Meanwhile, the family of the 19-year-old accused had stated that she was forcefully inducted into the gang on the pretext of studies.

The honey-trapping ring was busted by the Indore police after IMC engineer approached the police with a complaint of being blackmailed by a gang.

As per the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, only those government servants( including Ministers) could be charged who have granted out-of-turn contracts or funds from the treasury to the sex-blackmail syndicates.

Participation in illicit sexual activities does not attract sections of the Corruption Act, though action can be taken under Service Conduct rules.

The racket was allegedly operated by a 48-year-old woman who ran an NGO, as a cover to lure a woman into the ring.
