Indore police deepen probe in drugs case

Police in Indore are locating properties and the financial trail in the MDMA drugs case. The main accused in the case was arrested with 70 kilograms of the drugs along with five of his aides.

Indore: Police in Indore have started locating properties of the main accused, Ved Prakash Vyas, who was arrested with 70 kg of methylenedioxymethamphetamine drugs recently with his five aides.

The police are investigating the financial trails of the accused. They are also locating illegal properties of Vyas and investigating the pharmacy in Hyderabad linked to the smuggled drugs.

Speaking to ETV Bharat reporter, ASP, Indore Crime Branch, Guruparasar said, "During a preliminary investigation, we found out that these two companies have been manufacturing various medicines, including drugs for acidity and blood pressure, with proper permissions. We are verifying the documents to find out who owns the facilities and what type of medicines are being manufactured here,"

"All the five accused, arrested by the Indore Crime Branch, are currently on seven-day police remand. The arrested accused gave information about a smuggler named Rais, who used to meet these smugglers and he used to sell drugs in packets of glucose and smuggled drugs to other cities of Indore and MP," he said.

"We have identified those who were helping the accused and their drug peddlers/suppliers who helped them at the local level. They are being questioned about how much drugs they had sold in Indore. We have launched a manhunt to nab Rais, whose detailed report is still awaited. After his arrest, there is the possibility of more arrests in the case," he added.
