Madhya Pradesh: Triple murder accused killed in police encounter

Dilip Dewal was main accused in the murder case of Rajib Nagar resident Govind Solanki, his wife Sharda and daughter Divya. He was also accused of looting and killing a female doctor from Kasturba Nagar.

Ratlam:The Madhya Pradesh police on Thursday gunned down the main accused of Ratlam triple murder case in an encounter in which two sub-inspectors (SI) and three other policemen were also injured.

Confirming the news, Ratlam Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Tiwari said Dilip Dewal, the main accused of Ratlam triple murder was killed in the encounter that ensued near Khachrod checkpoint. Officers including Ayub Khan and Anurag Yadav in-charge of Manak Chowk police station were also injured in the incident.

The officer added that they received a tip-off following which police were deployed at the checkpoint and when Dilip spotted them he started firing.

In retaliation to the shooting, the police also fired shots in which Dilip was killed.

He was also accused of looting and killing a female doctor from Kasturba Nagar.

According to the police, Dilip Dewal used to loot and murder people along with his gang. Following the triple murder, the police nabbed Dilip's gang members but he was absconding.

The injured policemen have been taken to the district hospital.
