Bhopal:Governments may have not been successful in doubling the income of farmers, but the ministers who are reappearing in elections have been successful in doubling their income through agriculture.
The ministers and leaders contesting elections in the upcoming by-polls in Madhya Pradesh have disclosed their income and surprisingly the source of their income is agriculture.
According to reports, farming is the source of income for most of the ministers contesting on 28 assembly seats, yet according to the disclosure, their wealth has increased considerably.
About a dozen MLAs who defected to BJP and are now again trying their luck in people’s court have disclosed that their wealth has increased by 40 per cent since the last elections.
The property of Rajwardhan Singh Dattigaon, who belongs to the royal family, has accrued the most. While the wealth of Ministers of State OPS Bhadoria and Brajendra Singh Yadav increased by only 4 lakhs in the last two years.
Here is a lowdown of wealth accrued by the candidates.
Minister Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon's assets increased by Rs 3 crore 79 lakh
Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia's assets increased to Rs 1 crore 33 lakh
Minister Bisahulal's assets increased by Rs 1 crore 80 lakh
Minister Tulsi Silavat's assets increased by Rs 2 crore
Minister Govind Singh Rajput's assets increased by Rs 1.50 crore
The wealth of some ministers increased by crores of rupees in the last two years, while there are few whose wealth has increased by lakhs of rupees.
Minister Aindal Singh Kansana's assets increased by Rs 86 lakh
Minister Imrati Devi's assets increased by Rs 84 lakh
Minister Prabhuram Chaudhary's property also increased by 50 lakhs
Minister Girraj Dandautia's assets also increased by Rs 44 lakh
Minister Hardeep Singh Dung's assets increased by Rs 29 lakh
Minister of State Brajendra Singh Yadav's assets increased to 5 lakhs
Minister of State OPS Bhadoria's assets increased by Rs 4 lakh
BJP has defended the ministers
On the matter of a steep increase in wealth of these ministers, BJP spokesperson Rahul Kothari defended them. BJP spokesman said that in India, everyone has ancestral property. But when a person comes into politics and the MLA becomes a minister and then he also gets the salary and other facilities as well. But their wealth increases through farming and other works.
Congress targeted these ministers
However, Congress leader Bhupendra Gupta, while targeting the increased wealth of these leaders, said that the income of these ministers is through agriculture.
The irony is that on one hand these ministers’ income has increased manifold while the farmers of the state are forced to commit suicide due to an increase in debt. Now in such a situation, only these ministers can tell how their wealth has increased so much.
Report of the Doubling Farmers Income Committee
What is noteworthy here is that according to the report of the Doubling Farmers' Income Committee, the annual income of farmers in Madhya Pradesh is 1,16,788. According to this, every farmer in the state earns Rs 9,731 a month. But the income of the common farmer did not increase with this income, while the income of those farmers who became MLAs or ministers increased manifold.
Leaders can say what they want, but only they know the real details of this increased wealth of leaders and ministers. The big question is that these ministers have magnanimous departments and have the responsibility of increasing the income of common people and farmers. The poor has remained the poor while the income of these ministers has multiplied several-fold.
Although the minister and legislators also get many facilities, the government provides them with bungalows for living, free water, electricity, air travel and telephone facilities are also provided. The reason behind the increase of wealth at great proportions can only be explained by these ministers themselves.
