Madhya Pradesh love jihad: Kidnapped minor dies a year-and-half after marriage

Two days ago the minor whose name was changed from Bharati to Tarannum was admitted to a hospital in a Chunabhatti hospital where she died under suspicious circumstances.

Bhopal:In an alleged love jihad case from Madhya Pradesh, a man from Bhopal has been booked for kidnapping and allegedly converting a minor girl from Jhansi.

The man and the minor got married a year-and-half ago and settled in Bhopal. Reportedly, the man also got the minor's name changed from Bharati to Tarannum.

Two days ago the minor was admitted to a hospital with the converted name Tarannum in a Chunabhatti hospital where she died under suspicious circumstances.

Police have conducted post mortem of the body and the Uttar Pradesh police have also arrested two people in the case.

Hindu organizations agitated

With the matter coming into the light, various Hindu organizations started coming forward criticising the situation, condemning the case in different ways and were also demanding laws against love jihad.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had earlier announced during a meeting in the Ministry of Home Affairs that a law will be made against Love Jihad.

Illness cause of death

The post-mortem report of the girl revealed that she died due to illness.

After about one and a half years of marriage, the woman's condition became very weak and she died in Chunabhatti hospital during treatment.

The police have arrested the husband - main accused and another an accompanying youth. The police said they will be taken in custody and will be strictly questioned.
