Madhya Pradesh: Funeral procession of living man to halt rain

In an unusual incident, a living person's funeral procession was carried out in the Kali Sindh village of Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh. Locals believe that this ritual will stop the rains as the state is experiencing heavy rainfall.

On a similar note, an unusual funeral procession in Shajapur's Kali Sindh area grabbed everyone's attention.

A living person was carried to the crematorium along with a motley group of dancers and drum beats.

The funeral procession was taken out in the entire village to appease the rain god to halt the rain.

Locals believe that this ritual will stop the rains as the state is experiencing heavy rainfall and around 198 rain-related deaths have taken place.

Earlier, in Bhopal, a figurine of a frog couple was separated from the bondage of marriage in a customary process to stop the rains.
