Lockdown norms violated at village accountant's wedding in MP's Alirajpur, FIR registered

After a huge crowd gathered at the wedding of Bilasa village accountant in Alirajpur, an FIR under various sections was registered against them for violating lockdown norms.

Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh):An FIR was registered after a large number of people gathered at the wedding of Bilasa village accountant in Alirajpur amid nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19. "The village people have violated lockdown norms. An FIR has been registered in this regard," said Dheeraj Babbar, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Alirajpur.

The FIR has been registered under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 6,859 COVID-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh, including 3,571 cured/discharged and 300 deaths.

The fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown is slated to end on May 31 (Sunday).
