Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh agriculture minister and BJP leader Kamal Patel on Monday justified the murder of gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Asraf saying those who were killed were threat to the society and wanted in connection with several heinous crimes. Taking a dig at the Congress for criticising Uttar Pradesh government, Patel said Kamal Nath was unhappy with the killings as the gangsters were his relatives who had died.
"Murder of any person is bad. But, do people who are proven threat to the society and ignore the law, have any right to live in this country? Action will be taken against those who killed them," he said. Slamming Congress for sympathising with the gangsters, Patel questioned why the party kept silent when Kashmiri pandits were driven out from their state. He said it was the BJP who protested against it. "Now when efforts are being taken to free the country from anti-socials, mafias and terrorists, Congress is feeling bad. This shows with whom Congress is associated. Whether Congress is with the patriots or traitors is clear to all countrymen," Patel said adding that the gangsters were Congress leader Kamal Nath's relatives who had died and so he was feeling bad for them.
