Jabalpur Congress candidate alleges bogus voting in phase 4

Congress has claimed that bogus voting was done by military jawans at Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency. He accused a Brigadier-rank Army officer of helping BJP candidate Rakesh Singh. Vivek Tankha, a senior advocate by profession, reached out to Election Commission, which assured him of appropriate action.

Jabalpur:Congress has alleged that several army personnel were involved in bogus voting in Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency in the fourth phase polling on April 29. Congress candidate from Jabalpur Lok Sabha constituency Vivek Tankha filed a complaint with the Election Commission on Thursday.

Tankha has accused a Brigadier-rank officer of helping BJP candidate Rakesh Singh.

"The jawans were brought in and were instructed to press the first button and a scuffle broke out when locals opposed this," said Tankha.

He demanded a probe into the matter and said he was given the list of 2,212 voters, including the jawans, but he suspected that there were more than 3,500 people.
