Indore: After nabbing five accused with 70 kg MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) drugs on Tuesday, Indore police sought Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday to investigate properties of the arrested.

Speaking to the reporters here, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Harinarayan Mishra said that police have sought the ED to locate illegal properties of the accused in the case. He also said that more arrests in connection with the case are likely.

"We are suspecting that a huge amount of financial dealing has been done by these people. We are also locating illegal properties of these accused and they will be demolished. There is the possibility of more arrests in the case," Mishra said.

On being asked about the accused persons' Bollywood connection, Mishra said, "It has been revealed in the inquiry that drugs were supplied by them not only in Indore but also in many other cities of the country. Meanwhile, it would not be appropriate to name any particular city or person. It has come to notice that these drugs were meant for South Africa and other places. After 25 days of hard work, such a large amount of drugs was caught. These drugs are being consumed in parties in Mumbai and Delhi."

He said that Hyderabad Police also conducted searches on the pharma company of prime accused Ved Prakash Vyas.

Meanwhile, five persons, who were arrested with 70 kilograms of MDMA drugs worth Rs 70 crore, were sent for medical examination in MY Hospital following the order of a local court on Friday. All the five accused, arrested by the Indore Crime Branch, are currently on seven-day police remand.
