MP: Muslim girl, her Hindu boyfriend thrashed for going to hotel together Indore : Under the Tukoganj police station area of Indore, a Muslim girl along with her Hindu friend Bhavesh was returning home after taking a food pack at a hotel when some Muslim youths intercepted them and started beating them. One of the attackers advised the Muslim girl to wear a burqa and stay at home.
He also told her to follow Islam properly and abide by the Sharia law and wear the same burqa whenever she goes out of the house. When the Hindu youth resisted the Muslim youths, over 30 to 40 of them started beating him, sources said. When he was beaten up, some people who came there tried to intervene. During the rescue, Himanshu Patel and Yash Joshi were also stabbed, while Bhavesh also got serious injuries and he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
On getting information about the incident, the Tukoganj police reached the spot. Two youths, one of them identified as Shoaib, who were residents of the cantonment, have been taken into custody. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave directions to take strict action against the accused.
After this, the police is now busy in taking further action in this case. In a similar way, in Indore's Raoji Bazar police station area, a case was filed some time back in which saffron love jihad was mentioned. The present case is being linked to that, sources said. During the time when the Muslim girl was with the Hindu youth, she was also wearing a hijab on her head and after seeing that the Muslim youths mentioned all kinds of things.
Both of them along with rescuers were beaten up. Two days back, an open letter in Indore's Raoji Bazar police case issue went viral on social media. After that the issue became sensitive in the city. Now the Intelligence Department is also engaged in investigating the matter.
