Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The driver of Indore's District Health Officer, who was arrested for allegedly black marketing Remdesivir revealed the involvement of Cabinet Minister Tulsi Silawat's wife's driver in the scam.

The accused Punit Agarwal, who has a close connection with several BJP leaders, said that he purchased the injection from the driver of the Cabinet Minister's wife and later help others with the same injection.

"The accused has been identified as Punit Agrawal and two vials of Remdesivir have also been seized from his possession," said Vijay Nagar Police Station officer Tehzeeb Qazi. "The accused sold the injections at Rs 15,000 each," Qazi said.

Qazi further informed that the vehicle belongs to a private travel agency which was hired by Dr Poornima Gadariya, an official of the Indore Health Department, as a taxi.

Earlier in a similar case, three people were arrested in Shahdol including a nurse and two lab technicians of a medical college for black marketing of Remdesivir. Shahdol Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mukesh Vaishya informed, "We also arrested a pharmacy store owner. Six injections, mobile phones and over Rs 6 lakhs cash recovered from their possession."
