Gwalior: In the latest case of medical apathy, a hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior has registered the name of 940 frontline workers, who were supposed to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, with a single contact number. This means that none of them received the Covid shots from the seven vaccination booths set up by the hospital on Monday.

The incident has raised a question on the administration where the Centre and State governments are pacing with time to finish the deadline of vaccinating people against the pandemic but the officials did not pay heed to the seriousness of the issue.

Gwalior's Jairogya Hospital on Monday was scheduled to kick-start the second phase of coronavirus vaccination by giving Covid shots to nearly 940 people at seven booths but not a single person received the vaccine as the booths registered the names of people with only one mobile number following which neither the vaccination message was received nor the verification process was held.

Under the second drive, around 19,500 frontline workers are to be vaccinated. The front line workers include municipal corporation employees, police and other force personnel. On Monday, 5000 frontline workers were targeted for vaccination.
