Five killed in a road accident in Ujjain

Road accident claims five lives in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain including a five-month-old child.

Ujjain: Five persons were killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision between a van and a truck in Ujjain's Ghatiya.

The victims were returning from a marriage ceremony when the mishap took place on the Ujjain-Agra road.

The three victims have been admitted to the district hospital in Ujjain.

Suresh Verma, a resident of Ghatia was returning from a marriage ceremony in Unhel with his family when the truck lost his balance and collided with van around 2 am.

The villagers helped police to bring out bodies and injured persons from the van.

The bodies of the victims have been shifted to hospital for postmortem.

Suresh's family will be provided with Rs 4 lakh for deceased persons and Rs 2 lakh for injured persons under Sambhal yojna. Rs 5000 will be provided for perfroming the last rites of the deceased persons.
