"I was harvesting in my field when the victim came to me in a naked state and approached me to save her life. I did not understand the situation at that time but I knew that something wrong happened with her. She was screaming and calling me to rescue her from the accused. She was also accompanied by two young innocent children," Sreebai said.

"When I reached the spot with the woman, I saw three persons were sṭanding and who allegedly raped the woman and they also tried to threaten me. They tried to pressurize me to hand over the victim to them. They said that the victim was their sister-in-law, but the woman was denying any relation to them. I had already sensed that the intentions of those miscreants are not noble," she said.

"Those three criminals wanted to burn that woman alive. I chased the three accused away with the sickle, called my son and immediately informed the police. On being informed, the police arrested the three accused and saved the life of the victim," she added.
