Jabalpur (MP):As many as one Indian Army soldier was killed and three injured on Saturday after a massive blast took place an Army base workshop in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur.
The deceased Army person has been identified as Kaluram Gurjar (38) from Rajasthan.
According to sources, the incident occurred this afternoon due to a blast in a nitrogen cylinder at a gun carriage factory in the 506 Army Base Workshop.
Gurjar and others were fixing a problem with a howitzer gun when the accident took place, said City Superintendent of Police Dharmesh Dixit.
The three other personnel who were injured were admitted to the military hospital and are currently undergoing treatment, he said.
The 506 Army Base Workshop carries out maintenance and overhaul of guns including howitzers with recoil systems having gas cyclinders attached, sources said.
