Morena (Madhya Pradesh):A total of 14 police personnel from Morena and Gwalior districts have been suspended by authorities for their failure in providing escort to BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia when he was on his way to Gwalior having arrived from Delhi. On Sunday, the BJP MP's convoy had entered Gwalior district unescorted, as the Morena Police who were to provide cover had mistaken a similar vehicle to that of the former. As a result, the vehicle movement of the BJP leader was not shared with the Gwalior Police.
14 policemen suspended over lapse in Scindia's convoy
Around 14 policemen - 9 from Morena and 5 from Gwalior- have been suspended for a security lapse in BJP MP Jyotiraditya Scindia's convoy while he was travelling to Gwalior. Scindia a 'Z-category' protectee is provided with 22 personnel including 9 armed guards.
As soon as the information was received, the Gwalior Police immediately sent an additional escort vehicle to escort the BJP MP's convoy. Taking note of the incident, Morena SP Lalit Shakyawar suspended 9 policemen. The suspended personnel from Morena are Sub-inspector Shivraj Singh Chauhan, ASI Vinod Singh, head constable Badan Singh, constables Jitendra Singh, Rakesh Rathore, Santram, Anil Yadav, drivers Thawar Thakur and Rambihari.
