Two children injured in bomb blast in Kannur

Two children in Kerala's Kannur suffered injuries after they brought home an ice-cream cup which they stumbled upon but turned out to be a bomb that exploded when they tried to play with it.

Kannur (Kerala): Two children including a one-and-a-half-year old boy suffered serious injuries after a bomb exploded at Iritti Padikachal in Kannur district of Kerala. The boys apparently stumbled upon this bomb kept in the ice-cream cup.

Brothers, Muhammad Amin (5) and Muhammad Radeh (one and a half years old) picked up the ice-cream cup outside their home and brought it home. While they were playing with it, the cup exploded injuring both.

Mohammad Amin, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital. Police said that the ice-cream cup was in fact a bomb and they have commenced the investigation.

The region is notorious for political conflict during elections.
