Complaint lodged against PM Modi for 'traffic violations' during Kochi roadshow in Kerala

Jayakrishnan, a native of Thrissur, has lodged the complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) Kerala, Anilkanth and the Motor Vehicle Department saying that Prime Minister was hanging from his official vehicle without any regard to safety.

Thiruvananthapuram: A man from Thrissur area of Kerala has lodged a complaint against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for alleged traffic violations during his recent visit to Kochi, officials said. It is learnt that Jayakrishnan, a native of Thrissur, has lodged the complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) Kerala, Anilkanth and the Motor Vehicle Department on Wednesday, pointing out the traffic violations of the Prime Minister during his roadshow in Kochi on Apr. 24.

In his complaint, Jayakrishnan said that the Prime Minister was hanging from his official vehicle without any regard to safety even as the windshield of the car was covered with the flower petals showered by the locals on the PM thereby affecting the visibility of the driver and putting lives at risk. Jayakrishnan said in the complaint that everyone is bound to follow the law and everyone should follow it.

Pertinently, the Prime Minister arrived in Kochi on Apr. 24 to inaugurate various development activities like 'Yuvam', a dialogue program with the youth, the inauguration of the Vande Bharat train service, the Kochi Water Metro, Digital Science Park etc. PM Narendra Modi's roadshow in Kochi was held before the 'Yuvam' event.

During the roadshow, the Prime Minister was seen hanging on the front seat of his official vehicle with the door open and greeting and waving at the people who had gathered on both sides of the road. PM Modi held a 1.8 km roadshow in Kochi. A large crowd had thronged the streets to meet Modi in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

PM Modi also held a roadshow in Thiruvananthapuram the next day on Apr. 25.
