This Kerala man serves free food to poor, homeless

Jason Paul, Chairman of the Mother Janaseva Charitable Trust in Vaddukkara has been unrelentingly feeding lines of destitute people as part of his daily free-food camp. He has been serving 100-150 people six times a week at 12 pm at Pattalam road in Kerala's Thrissur.

Thrissur (Kerala): At 12 pm every weekday, several homeless poor people, who cannot afford a decent meal, line up at Pattalam road in Kerala's Thrissur. The people queueing up wait for one man, who sincerely comes to the same spot for the past two years to serve them free home-cooked food.

Jason Paul, Chairman of the Mother Janaseva Charitable Trust in Vaddukkara has been unrelentingly feeding lines of destitute people as part of his daily free-food camp.

Driven by the slogan 'feed at least one person, if not 100 people', Paul and his team provide free meals to roughly 100 to 150 people daily. The entire team comprising of Paul's wife Binu Maria, Shine James - a bus driver in Ollur, V I Ismail - a workshop worker, Sreejith - an auto driver, and Ramya - a school teacher and Prathibha.

They all gather at Paul's house and start cooking at 7.30 am in the morning. The food served by Paul costs him around Rs 5000 per day. Paul runs a fruit business at Ernakulam for a livelihood.
