Student from Kottayam gets chance to participate in NASA's Globe program

Lakshmi V Nair from Poonjar got an opportunity to be a part of the Globe program, an international education program organized in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The members have to do is prepare a video on the natural issues suggested by the Globe team.

Kottayam: Lakshmi V Nair from Poonjar is happy to be getting an opportunity as a part of the Globe program, an international education program organized in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Of the 12 students selected from 112 countries, Lakshmi was the only one from the Asia Pacific region. Lakshmi is studying in the class 9th in Poonjar based school. Pyarilal, a teacher at Poonjar SMV School was suggested her to applied for the Globe program. The welcome kit for the event was a globe t-shirt and medal, and Mike arrived as a parcel for the video shoot.

What is the Globe program?

The NASA Globe Program is designed to promote Science and the study of the environment. This enhances the inquisitive nature of the students. All the members have to do is prepare a video on the natural issues suggested by the Globe team.

Lakshmi has been praised by many on social media. The panchayat aims to give Lakshmi a big reception after the covid lockdown. Lakshmi says she is supported by her father Vijayakumar, an employee of a private Ayurveda institute and her mother Sreeja, younger sister Nandana. Lakshmi is excited about the great achievement despite the limited living resources.
