Public campaign ends in Kerala; Silent campaign starts

Today marks the culmination of a month-long public campaign. The three fronts ended their campaigns with roadshows and marches. The campaign ended at 6 pm in Wayanad district and Ernad, Nilambur and Vandoor constituencies in Malappuram district due to Maoist threat.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala will decide its fate for the next five years on April 6. Today marks the culmination of a month-long public campaign. The three fronts ended their campaigns with roadshows and marches. The campaign ended at 6 pm in Wayanad district and Ernad, Nilambur and Vandoor constituencies in Malappuram district due to Maoist threat.

In other districts, the campaign ended at 7 pm. The campaign ended in a grand manner with prominent leaders of the three fronts leading the proceedings full of excitement all over Kerala. Dance performances along with orchestras and processions with party flags graced the closing ceremonies. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ended his campaign by touring the constituency in an open jeep in Dharmadom. Malayalam Film stars including Indrans, Madhupal and Harishree Asokan had participated in the CM's campaign.

After attending the Kozhikode Road Show, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended the public campaign in the Nemom constituency in Thiruvananthapuram. While Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala had held a roadshow at Nedumkandam in the Idukki district.

BJP leaders marched to various parts of the constituency. Although the Election Commission had imposed restrictions on a large number of people coming together due to covid regulations, in many places conflicts happened.

By the end of the public campaign, the fronts and candidates were trying to garner maximum votes. Candidates will now be able to campaign in-house and meet prominent figures in the constituency in person as the silent campaign began at 7 pm tonight.
