Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): In a shocking incident, a man from Venpakal in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala set himself ablaze in an attempt to take his own life following a property dispute with his neighbour.
Kerala man sets himself ablaze over property dispute The man, Rajan sustained severe burn injuries. His wife who tried to stop him from setting himself ablaze also sustained burns.
Rajan and his wife were taken to the General Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for treatment and later shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

According to the Police, Rajan has been fighting a civil case with his neighbour. The Court had ordered to clear the temporary shed built by Rajan recently in the disputed property. When the officials reached the place, to execute the court order, Rajan set himself ablaze and attempted to commit suicide. Seeing this, his wife Ambili rushed to stop him from doing so and sustained burns.
Anil Kumar, Grade Sub Inspector who was also trying to stop the man, sustained minor burns.
