Thrissur: In a 'Police with the people' initiative, Kerala Police on Thursday enquired the well-being of those under home quarantine and gave them necessary guidelines through a video call.

As a part of the people friendly initiative by the Kerala police, Thrissur Range DIG S Surendran contacted people who are under home quarantine and enquired about their health status through a video call.

During the call, the DIG applauded their efforts in making the community free of the deadly virus disease which claims two lives and over makes 286 infected in the state.

"Those, who are isolated from the outside world, are also not supposed to interact with their own family members. In all possibilities, they could be mentally stressed. It is to ease their tension and anxiety that the Kerala police call them, talk to them and chat with them on a video call," said DIG.

Many people who might have closely interacted with COVID positive patients have gone on strict home quarantine to prevent a community level spread of the disease. They are under direct observation of the health department and their health status is being monitored and followed.

As per the official data, more than 47,000 persons are remaining under home quarantine under Thrissur range.
