Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Transport Minister AK Saseendran on Thursday said that all the offices under the Motor Vehicle Department would go paperless from January 1.
Speaking to media, the minister said that it has been decided to facilitate most services online to avoid crowding at the offices.
For a person presently living abroad, the application to renew the driving license can be given online after uploading the medical fitness certificate from a doctor in their place.
Pollution test certification would be done online based on a uniform scale. Hereafter, the pollution certificate would be issued by the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD).
Minister Saseendran informed that there would be a relaxation in the decision to cancel the permits of the diesel auto-rickshaws as old as 15 years or more from January 1, 2021.
