Kottayam:Police traced the nine girls, all victims in POCSO cases, who went missing from a private shelter home, at Ilanji, in the house of one of the relatives of the POCSO victim. Police said the children travelled to Koothattukulam from Kottayam by bus and then went to Ilanji. These children went missing from the shelter home around 5.30 am on Monday.

It is being said that the nine girls, including POCSO Act, survivors were protesting for the past few days saying they wanted to leave the shelter home.

A special police team was formed for the search of the missing girls. This shelter home is functioning under the Nirbhaya Cell of the Women and Children Development department. A few days ago, five girls went missing from this home and were later traced. Police are continuing an investigation into the case to find out the situation under which the children went missing and also possible security lapses.
