Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala):Kerala officials on Wednesday refuted news reports that claimed about 35 migrant workers, including many from Amethi, were stranded in Karuvarakundu in Malappuram district without food and ration items, and that Union Minister Smriti Irani had to come to their rescue.
An earlier report had pointed out that these workers got food and ration items due to the intervention of Irani, who is the BJP MP from Amethi, the erstwhile constituency of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Police officials said the migrant workers were getting regular supplies of the state government and they were put up in a sound accommodation, which also has been provided for free by the building owner.
