Thiruvananthapuram:It was a day that many Kerala health workers might never forget, when on Sunday morning they were treated as super heroes by the Indian Defence forces at the state capital when helicopters, aircraft and fast interceptor steam past at the Arabian sea at Kochi, honoured all those who have been fighting the COVID-19.
"I will never forget this honour that we were given. It's a never before experience we have got," said a para medical staff at the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital (TGH).
"We really feel happy, that we have been honoured for our hard work and this will only boost our morale to work even harder," said a nurse.
By 10 a.m., the entire staff at the TGH was waiting in front of the hospital for the flypast. Soon came a Sarang Helicopter and it went past them three times showering flowers at them.
Also lined up were 108 Ambulances on the road in front of the TGH.
As soon as the helicopter was seen on the horizon, the staff were seen waving and clapping their hands.
After the helicopter disappeared, these staff members were seen collecting the flowers and the petals and holding them close to their hearts, they felt a hugely happy lot and it was seen on their faces.
Likewise similar scenes were seen at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, when the entire staff from sweepers to the senior most doctor was waiting in front of the hospital.
