Kannur:The joy Fathima Shaihaba experiences while reading lines from the Quran she replicated herself knows no bounds. Writing lines from Quran was a leisure time activity for Shaihaba initially. As she got indulged in the calligraphy intensely, her dexterity improved and the holy book was completed in one year and two months in the Usmani script.
People say that Shaihaba's calligraphy has replicated words, lines and signs from the Quran impeccably. After Shaihaba's calligraphy enthralled netizens, she was interviewed by the BBC.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, the young calligraphy artist said that she was inclined towards arts earlier also. She used to do canvas painting, wall art earlier. Replicating the Quran was a herculean task as she had to be extremely careful while writing the 'soorats' without breaking it and losing the essence, as per Shaihaba. As she regards the replicated Quran as a treasure, she is not even willing to hand over it to anyone, rather she is ready to give copies to those who demand it.
