Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): Though Kerala has relaxed COVID regulations and opened up beaches, the Kovalam Beach in Thiruvananthapuram district, which has always been a paradise for foreigners and the tourists from other parts of India, wears a deserted look.
Presently, the only visitors at Kovalam are a few residents from Thiruvananthapuram city and those from the bordering state of Tamil Nadu. No foreign tourists have been visiting Kovalam, even after the COVID regulations were relaxed.
Except for a few foreigners, who have been stranded in Kerala during the COVID lockdown, walking along the beaches in the mornings, Kovalam beach seems empty. A few locals come by to spend their evenings in the empty beach.
