Kasargod: All schools in Kasargod's Cheruvathur panchayath have installed a 'water bell', a symbolic way to give regular intervals to students to drink water and stay hydrated. According to reports, the initiative is aimed at combating dehydration among students in the extreme weather condition and to develop a healthy habit of drinking water.
The 'water bell' rings thrice in a working day, as the school authorities noticed that most students are reluctant to drink water even if the parents compel them to carry a bottle every day. The Water Bell scheme has covered in every school in the Cheruvathur Panchayat, whereas in Valiyaparambu village panchayat, the primary health center is steering the project ahead.
