Kottayam: Husna, a college girl from Changanassery in Kottayam district of Kerala, has been grabbing attention from all quarters for her special art - pencil lead carving.
She has set a record in the meticulous art by inscribing the entire lyrics of Vande Mataram, the national song, on the pencil lead in just one week.

Husna entered this field of pencil lead carving coincidentally. Carving on a pencil lead requires tremendous patience and concentration, and meticulous attention to detail.
She has been experimenting with the possibilities and potential of this art form for the past one and half year. She has completed more than 100 pencil lead carving works by now.
Husna inscribed entire lyrics of Vande Mataram on pencil lead A third-year BBA student with the Assumption College in Changanassery, Husna now dreams of entering the Asia Book of Records by her creations on the tiny lead tip of the unassuming pencils.
Besides her father Sali, a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus driver, and her mother, her friends and classmates support and encouragement have always inspired her to do more carving on pencil leads.
