Kannur: Pazhangode village, once a popular name in the trading arena of North Malabar region in Kerala, will now be known for the World record set by a teenager from this village in football juggling.
Thirteen years old, B L Akhila from Kovvappuram Pazhangode in Cherukunnu, Kannur district of Kerala, broke the record of a Brazilian juggler and set another one by juggling a football for 171 times in one minute without letting it touch the ground.
Akhila is the seventh-grade student with the Sports Division School, Kannur. She has set the record in football juggling with the Universal Records Forum by juggling the ball for the maximum number of times within a minute.
Kerala girl sets world record in football juggling The record, which was earlier set by Brazilian juggler Joshua Durette, with the Universal Records Forum was broken by Akhila by juggling the ball 171 times in one minute.

The youngest daughter of Baiju, a fisherman and Leema Mary, Akhila started getting trained in football through the State’s sports training programme ‘Kick Off’.
Baiju, Akhila’s father, who was overwhelmingly joyed by his daughter’s remarkable feat, said that she was passionate about football from a very young age. Akhila, who has got admission to the G V Raja Sports School, is eagerly waiting for the school to reopen. Aneesha, who is a Tae kwon do (Korean martial art form) player, is Akhila’s sister.
