Kerala: Four die of suffocation while digging well in Kundara

The tragic accident took place at Perumpuzha Kovilmukku, while four workers have died in an accident while digging a well at Kundara in Kollam.

Kollam: Four workers have died in an accident while digging a well at Kundara in Kollam. The tragic accident took place at Perumpuzha Kovilmukku. The deceased have been identified as Rajan, Somarajan, Sivaprasad and Manoj, all natives of Kundara. A fire department officer also collapsed while evacuating the victims.

A Thiruvananthapuram native was digging a new well as part of the construction of a new house. The first two workers descended into a narrow well about 100 feet deep. The other workers came to the rescue and later they also collapsed due to suffocation.

The fire department officials rushed to the scene but could not save the lives of the four victims. All the workers were unconscious when they were taken out of the well. They were shifted to the hospital but could not be saved.
