Kerala couple enters suicide pact, man dies, woman backs out

A 31-year-old man died while his lover with whom he had entered into a suicide pact backed out at the last moment in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.

Thiruvananthapuram:A 31-year-old man died by suicide in a hotel room on Monday and his girlfriend survived even though both had decided to end their lives together. The girl, seeing the man dying backed out at the last moment. The incident took place at a hotel in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.

The hotel staff rushed to the couple's room on Monday night after hearing the woman's cries. Her lover was found hanging, while blood was oozing out of her ears. While the man hanged himself to death, the woman, frightened, started screaming. The police rushed her to a local hospital and then she was referred to the Kottayam Medical College hospital.

According to the initial investigation, the couple checked into the hotel on Sunday and consumed some medicines. The woman's relatives filed a missing complaint at the local police station when she did not return home. The police are presently investigating the case.
