Puthupally: Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy said that Pinarayi Vijayan surprised him by changing his stance over the Sabarimala women entry issue on the day of the election.
Speaking to reporters after casting the vote, Chandy alleged that Vijayan had filed a counter-affidavit against the affidavit filed by UDF to uphold the traditions and faith in the Sabarimala temple.

Kerala Assembly polls Updates
Thiruvananthapuram:The polling for 140 assembly constituencies of Kerala will be conducted across 40,771 polling stations today. The total number of electors in the State is 2,74,46,039 which include 1,32,83,724 males, 1,41,62,025 females and 290 transgenders. The number of service voters this year is 57,160.
This year a total of 957 candidates are there and the total number of polling personnel this year is 2,02,402. 97 per cent of all polling personnel have been vaccinated.
Proper arrangements for social distancing have been put in place. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and volunteers will monitor and regulate strict compliance of social distancing norms at the polling stations. At the last hour of poll, polling will be conducted in full Covid-19 protective gear, with proper COVID-19 protocols and supervision of health authorities.
As a major push for conducting free and fair elections, live monitoring and webcasting of more than 50 per cent of Polling Stations (20441) including critical and vulnerable polling booths has been put in place as per ECI norms, to ensure safe and secure atmosphere in polling areas. The Commission, the CEO, DEOs, and Observers can watch live streaming and keep a close watch on these polling booths.
