The Campco Administrative Committee’s direction to clear up and maintain cleanliness in the office compound led to the idea of farming vegetables on the premises. Today, long beans, bottle gourds and bitter gourds are ready for harvest.
George Joseph, a staff with the Campco, leads the vegetable cultivation at Campco premises. Vegetable farming is being carried out in a completely organic manner. After clearing the wild growth and weeds on top of the rocky terrain, the land was dug up and a layer of soil was spread over the rocks. George used the seeds of the vegetables he had grown at his house for sowing at the Campco farm. Campco Zonal Manager P A Pradeep is also actively involved in full support for George’s farming initiative at the premises.
