Kannur (Kerala): Extending support to the community kitchens run by Kudumabasree in association with local self-government institutions, pesticide-free vegetables produced as part of the 'Jeevani' project implemented by Anthur Krishi Bhavan will be given free of cost to the community kitchens.
As many as 150 people led by the staff and the office bearers of Mangad Smrithi Industrial Workshop functioning at Dharmashala were involved in farming here. 'Jeevani project' implemented by the Agricultural department for revitalizing the organic farm sector was launched in all the districts in the state in January.
The Krishi Bhavan also plans to store the harvest and to make it available within the corporation limits. It has been informed that the vegetables would be stocked at Bakkalam Eco shop and would be distributed as and when the situation demands.
