Illegal agreement between Adani and Kerala government, alleges Chennithala

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the state government-run electricity department has made a 25-year long agreement with the Adani Group fooling the people of Kerala.

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has raised an allegation against the state government and the Power department. Chennithala said that the state government-run electricity department made a 25-year long agreement with the Adani Group. Pinarayi Vijayan government had facilitated Adani to take the state to fool the people here for the next 25 years with the help of BJP government, a new ally of the Left. The agreement is to buy 300 MW of power from the Adani Group.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan rejected the allegations of Ramesh Chennithala. CM said that all agreements related to KSEB are available on the website and the opposition had made similar allegations earlier. The problem of the Opposition is the growth in the power sector in Kerala. The CM also said that the privatization of the power sector was initiated by Congress and now the BJP is continuing it.

Electricity Minister of Kerala M.M Mani has denied the allegations of Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala. The minister said KSEB had a contract with a central government agency and had no connection with the Adani group. He clarified that the government has nothing to hide and all the information has been published on the website of the power department.
