Have no complaints, says boy who called actor turned MLA Mukesh

The MLA, while responding to the incident said that he was not a person who'd speak in a bad tone to a child. He said that he had admonished the boy because he had been calling him insistently.

Palakkad: Malayalam actor and Kollam MLA M Mukesh of the CPI(M) has landed himself in a controversy after a phone call of him shouting at a boy was leaked. In the leaked audio, the caller claims to be a Class 10 student from Ottappalam in Palakkad district. Though the caller said that he called for an urgent matter, the CPI(M) legislator refused to listen to him. Mukesh was heard shouting at the boy, asking why he did not call the Palakkad MLA instead.

The boy in the leaked audio today responded to the matter. The teachers in the boy's school WhatsApp group had asked him to ask for help from famous personalities to help those students who do not have access to mobile phones to attend online classes. Considering how much the other children would suffer, the boy decided to call the actor turned MLA.

"He was angry because I called him six times. Anyone can get angry," the boy said. He said that he had no complaints.

It was alleged that MLA Mukesh had misbehaved with the student who called to lodge a complaint. The MLA, while responding to the incident said that he was not a person who'd speak in a bad tone to a child. He said that he had admonished the boy because he had been calling him insistently.

Following the phone call controversy, CPM leaders and Palakkad MP VK Sreekandan intervened in the matter. "There is no bad intention on the phone call and everything is resolved," responded Ottappalam ex-MLA Hamsa.

MP VK Sreekandan demanded that MLA Mukesh should publicly apologize to the community on the issue. Meanwhile, local MLA Premkumar also went to the CITU office to see the child. The MLA said the child's needs would be addressed soon.
