Guruvayur temple to open for devotees from June 15th; Virtual queue system to be followed

A virtual queue system to regulate the number of visitors at the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple in a COVID situation will be followed. A maximum of 600 persons would be allowed to enter the Temple on one day. In one day, a maximum of 60 marriages only would be allowed at the Temple premises. Devaswom Minister has asked all devotees to cooperate and comply with all the COVID regulations and guidelines.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): Kerala Government has decided to implement a virtual queue system in Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple. The temple will be open for darshan from June 15th, ensuring compliance with the COVID prevention guidelines.

The virtual queue system is to regulate the number of visitors at the temple in a COVID situation, like in Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.

At Guruvayur, an entry into the temple complex will be allowed only for those who register online. The dharshan timings have been fixed from 9.30 in the morning till 1.30 pm. A maximum of 600 persons would be allowed to enter the Temple on one day. In one hour, a maximum of 150 persons would be let in for dharshan, in a regulated manner. Each group let in at a time will have not more than 50 persons.

"Devotees must cooperate and comply with all the COVID regulations and guidelines," said Kadakampally Surendran, Devaswom Minister, Kerala.

Wearing masks is mandatory for all those who visit the temple. Prasadam, Theertham, and Naivedyam would not be distributed.

In one day, a maximum of 60 marriages only would be allowed at the temple premises and it must be in compliance with the COVID regulations. It has been directed that a maximum of ten persons, including the bride and the groom, will only be allowed for a marriage ceremony. Timings for marriages have been fixed from 5 am till 1.30 pm.

The body temperatures of all persons who attend the marriages will be checked using a thermal scanner. All who partakes in the marriages are to reach the Melpathur Auditorium in the temple premises 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
