Malappuram:The Customs at the Calicut International Airport on Saturday night seized gold worth Rs 54.19 lakhs.
Concealed in 7 capsule-shaped objects, around 1,047 grams of gold was seized from two passengers who arrived from Dubai.
The passengers are natives of Palakkad in Kerala and Karwar in Karnataka.

Previously on September 30, a passenger was arrested for attempting to smuggle 40 grams of gold in his N-95 mask at the Calicut Airport located in Karipur.
The travellers have been booked under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962.
