Thrissur (Kerala): National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials on Wednesday put an arrest warrant outside gold smuggling case accused Faisal Fareed's house in Kaipamangalam in Thrissur district.
The NIA sleuths had stated in the court that Faisal Fareed had forged documents to facilitate gold smuggling through the diplomatic baggage channel at Dubai. He had also bought and sent the gold as planned through the diplomatic baggage channel at Thiruvananthapuram airport.
NIA puts up arrest warrant outside Faisal Fareed's house A non-bailable warrant was issued against Fareed. His passport has also been cancelled by India.
Officials have also confirmed that Faisal is in Dubai Police custody.
A blue corner notice was also issued by the Interpol against Faisal Fareed, the third accused in the gold smuggling through diplomatic baggage channel case on July 18.

The Interpol acted upon a request from India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is probing the case along with the Customs.
With the issuance of Blue Corner notice, the investigation team aims to put a check on the possibility of the accused fleeing to any other country through any of the airports in the world.
The Interpol’s Blue Corner notice basically tracks persons allegedly involved in criminal activities and are suspected by the investigators to be in other countries.
NIA team is hopeful that once Faizal Fareed is brought back to India and interrogated, the possible terrorists’ link to the gold smuggling case can also be proved.
The Customs Department had on July 5 seized 30 kg gold worth Rs 15 crore concealed in diplomatic consignment at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport.
