Ganja, hashish oil worth Rs 1.5 crore seized in Kerala, 2 held

Contraband worth Rs 1.5 crore in the international market has been seized and two persons have been arrested in this connection from Thiruvananthapuram, on Monday.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): The Excise department’s enforcement wing officers intercepted and seized Rs 50 lakh worth ganja and 50 lakh hashish oil while being smuggled in a national permit lorry at Pothencode, in Thiruvananthapuram, here on Monday.

Contraband worth Rs 1.5 crore in the international market has been seized

About 100 kilograms of Ganja (cannabis) and hashish oil, both estimated to be worth Rs 50 lakh each, have been seized from the lorry by the Enforcement squad. A special squad under the Excise Commissioner carried out the operation. Two persons, Eldo Abraham (28) a native of Perumbavur and Sebin (29) a native of Kundara in Kollam, have been arrested.

Thiruvananthapuram Excise special squad led by Circle Inspector Anil Kumar conducted the checking operations and seized the material.
